Understanding Deal Associations in Rizer Recycling

When you recycle deals in Rizer, you’ll often see those deals tied to different companies and contacts at different times. That’s completely normal—and it’s actually a big part of what makes Rizer effective. These associations help keep your data organized and your sales follow-up smart.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how these connections work in Rizer, so you can make the most of every recycled deal without needing to worry about the technical stuff in the background.

Let’s take a closer look at how Rizer manages associations between companies, contacts, and deals throughout the recycling process.

How Rizer Handles Associations

Rizer uses a smart system to group your deals, contacts, and companies into what we call “entities.” These entities adapt automatically based on how your data evolves.

If a contact doesn’t have a company linked yet, they’ll be grouped into an “unknown entity.” That way, Rizer still has a place to track activity and recycling history, even if some details are missing. Once you associate the contact with a company, Rizer updates the structure automatically and adjusts the grouping.

If a deal is tied to more than one company or contact, it might show up in multiple entities. That’s intentional—it gives you full visibility into all the people and organizations connected to that opportunity.

Getting associations right helps power some of Rizer’s most important features:

  • Your CRM data stays clean and in sync between Rizer and HubSpot
  • Nurturing workflows stay targeted to the right audience
  • Feature and competitor insights are properly linked
  • Sales reps always see the full story when they follow up

Here’s how it works in real-life scenarios.

Company to Deal Associations

When a deal is linked to one or more companies, Rizer shows that connection clearly across all the relevant company profiles and timelines.

Example scenarios:

  • Single Company, Single Deal
You create a company (e.g., Company_1) and a deal for it. Once recycled, both appear in Rizer together.
  • Multiple Companies, One Deal
If Company_3 owns the deal but you later associate Company_4 with it too, Rizer lists that deal under both companies. Each company shows a full recycling timeline for context.
  • Company Removed
If you remove a company from a deal, Rizer updates all timelines accordingly to maintain an accurate history.

Contact to Deal Associations

Deals don’t always start out tied to a company. Sometimes it’s just a contact—and that’s fine. Rizer handles these situations automatically and keeps everything organized.

Example scenarios:

  • Deal with a Contact Only
You recycle a deal tied to a contact (e.g., Contact_7) with no company linked. Rizer creates an “unknown entity” to manage this data.
  • Contact Added or Removed
If you add another contact to the same deal, the unknown entity is updated to reflect both. If you remove one, Rizer updates the timeline to keep a complete record of what changed.
  • Company Added Later
When a company is eventually associated with that deal, Rizer links it and updates the unknown entity accordingly.

Contact to Company Associations

Contacts often get associated with a company after deals have already been recycled. Rizer makes sure all those links stay consistent and accurate.

Example scenarios:

  • Contact Later Linked to a Company
Suppose Contact_13 is first linked to a deal without a company. Later, you associate them with Company_14. Rizer merges everything and updates the timeline.
  • Contact Removed from Company
If you remove the contact from the company, Rizer moves them back to an unknown entity and updates deal visibility as needed.
  • One Contact, Multiple Deals, Same Company
Whether the deals originated from the company or the contact, once they’re all associated to the same company, Rizer merges the data into a unified entity.

With this flexible system, Rizer ensures your recycling process remains efficient, organized, and insight-driven from day one.
